Smriti Parsheera

National Institute of Public Finance & Policy, New Delhi, Fellow

Smriti Parsheera is a Fellow at the National Institute of Public Finance & Policy, New Delhi, where she specializes in technology policy. Her research areas include privacy and digital rights, digital identity, regulation of emerging technologies and competition policy. She is one of the contributing authors of “Responsible AI: A Global Policy Framework”.

Smriti has previously served as part of the research secretariat for the Financial Sector Legislative Reforms Commission​, an expert body set up by the Government of India​ to undertake a comprehensive review of all financial sector laws​. Prior to that she has ​worked with the United Nations Development Programme​ and with the investigation unit of the Competition Commission of India. She also has the experience of working with the mergers and acquisitions practice group at L&L Law Offices in Delhi.

Smriti is a law graduate from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore and did her LLM from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law along with a Certificate Course in Law and Business from the Wharton School. She is currently pursuing a PhD in policy
studies from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
