Irene Leino

Irene Leino has over 14 years of experience on child rights, human rights, sustainable development and corporate responsibility. Currently Irene is working at UNICEF Finland as Manager of Corporate Responsibility Issues. Previously Irene has worked with other major international organizations (the World Bank, UNDP and UNFCCC), government, and the private sector in the countries of Tanzania, Vietnam, Pakistan, India, Indonesia, the US, Germany and Finland Child rights in AI and other emerging technologies are Irene’s passion.

Her work on child rights and business mainly focuses on the ICT and tech sector to work with the industry on good practices on issues such as privacy and data protection, and the ethical design and implementation of AI solutions.

Irene works closely both with the government and the industry to address these issues and translate theoretical high-level ideas into understandable recommendations. Irene is also working together with digital product developers and designers to integrate child rights into product and service design. Irene was one of the organizers of a child rights and privacy related side event during the last MyData conference.
